Kyogle Town

Home

Here are some pictures of the township of Kyogle. The main street is the shopping centre and to the west of town are the council offices (about 50 yards west) . The railway is about 80 yards west and that's where the truck pictures were taken  and also, nearby, is the furniture "factory"

First the pictures of the main street. These were taken between 8am and 8.45 on November 16 2006.

Looking due north. We live 1 and a half kilometres along this road north in the country.

Still looking north but further along the street.

Just past the clock and now looking up the hill south towards Casino, some 36 kms away. This area one hour later is full of parked cars. Along the road and in the centre.

Still looking south but near the end of the shopping centre

Across the road now, and looking south.

Looking south, that's our butcher there. He cures all his own meats. Best smoked meats this side of the Murray!

This was taken about 80 yards west from the south of town. The railway is just behind me. The hill is called Fairy Mount.

This is the railway bridge. trucks to the right and cars to the left.

Now has this truck sufficient clearance. the driver does probably not know how high his load is. He crept forward slowly.

Oh no!, I can hear a scraping noise.

No damage, just a noise!

He is clear. We can all breathe again.

The council chambers, just behind the shops on the western side of the main shopping centre street.
